Canada Youth Summer Jobs: Development Officer
8 Week Contract | 35 Hours/Week | $20/Hour

- Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
Role & Responsibilities:
- Support community relations activities and initiatives to gain funding
- Source new opportunities for fundraising
- Support data collection and design for our 2025-26 Impact Report
- Facilite new partnerships with local service providers on Vancouver Island appointed to deliver a series of community functions and activities
- Attending all Community events to engage with volunteers, other charities, community partners, sponsors, staff and board of directors
- Support stewardship projects, including updating acknowledgement letters, making phone calls, sending emails including new templates and ensuring our information is accurate
- Perform, research and contribute to strategies for prospective individuals, corporations and charities to form new relationships
- Create and maintain records in the database
- Undertakes any secondary taskings (administrative) and responsibilities deemed necessary for a robust development and fundraising program

Canada Youth Summer Jobs: Day Camp Leader
8 Week Contract | 35 Hours/Week | $20/Hour
This position is funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program. To apply for this job, you must:
- Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
- Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
Role & Responsibilities:
- Complete screening and training to become a B You program facilitator for Spring sessions; to be completed as training for summer camp facilitation
- Plan and facilitate in-person B You sessions for female identifying and gender-diverse youth, ages 9-14, both for the school-based and summer camp programs
- Adhere to program policies and procedures as detailed in the National Standards and Service Delivery Manual
- Assist in utilizing feedback from pilot project to update and implement changes in summer camp delivery as necessary
- Assist in preparing summer camp session plans and schedules, including creation of a balanced food plan
- Support B You Mentoring Coordinator in organizing program supplies
- Assist with program promotion as necessary
- Complete report following summer program outlining successes, challenges, and feedback for future implementation
- Additional tasks as directed by supervisor

Driver/Swamper
Part-Time – $22/Hour
Reporting to the Manager of Social Enterprise for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Victoria Capital Region, the driver/swamper will help conduct product collections and deliveries. The ideal candidate will have an excellent driving record, comply with safety standards, have good customer service skills in person and on the phone, be able to problem solve and work with a team or independently.
The primary responsibilities of this position involve:
- driving an agency provided vehicle
- loading and unloading donations
- sorting donations
- coordinating pick up and drop off times and days
- maintaining simple accounting entries
- and other tasks as required.
The candidate needs to be physically able to drive and be seated for lengths up to 2 hours, lift bags and boxes repeatedly of up to 30kgs and adhere to safety precautions at all times.
