B You Facilitator Mid-Way Check-In Survey

Thank you SO much for taking the time to fill this out. This survey will help us to gain a better understanding of how your groups are running, and will allow us to see any gaps in the program that we can bridge as we move forward in your sessions. The more details you share, and the more honest you are, the better I can help to make B You as fun and easy-going for you as possible.

  • Midway check in: conditions for a safe & quality program

Please answer the following questions to the best of your ability. You do not need to answer ALL of the prompts, they are only meant to spark your thinking, nor do you need to answer in full sentences. Estimated time to complete: 5-10 minutes.
  • Probes: What activities have your group done (no need to list all, a few examples will do)? Are activities safe for all match members? How is the variety? Is everyone having opportunities to use voice and choice? What topics has your group discussed so far? Have you ever had contact with any of your mentees outside of your group?
  • Is attendance consistent? Do you get the sense that your mentees feel they can rely on you? Have you missed any sessions? If yes, why?
  • Do you feel that you are forming a connection with your group? What could you do to increase feelings of connection (if applicable)? Is your group growing closer as the weeks go on? Do you get the sense that your mentees are engaged in the group and with you as a Mentor?
  • Do you feel the program is beneficial for the Mentees? Can you give an example? How much input do your mentees have in activities and discussions? Is there a balance between everyone's speaking time? Is anyone monopolizing the conversations? How can we ensure, moving forward, that this group is operating in a youth-centered manner? In other words, how can we make sure it's a level playing field for all mentees?
  • How do you ensure that all voices are heard and each youth feels a sense of belonging in the group? How do you handle conflict int he group and/or challenging group dynamics?
  • How do you set boundaries during activities/sessions? Can you give me examples? How much structure is present in your group meetings?
  • Are your expectations being met? Please elaborate. Do you feel comfortable contacting the agency staff about questions or concerns?
  • Please let me know if you would like me to follow up with you regarding these challenges. Note: I am unable to communicate with your co-facilitators on your behalf unless absolutely necessary. I can work with you to formulate your thoughts as needed, but please do your best to communicate with your team to iron out any issues. If this does not work, I will happily step in and facilitate a conversation. Remember, addressing challenges with a team is a great learning opportunity!
  • Developmental Relationships: Intentionality
