Review Eligibility Requirements

  • Child is between the ages of 7-16 years old at date of inquiry submission.
  • Child is aware of and wishes to be a part of the mentoring program with Big Brothers Big Sisters.
  • Child is able to communicate, perform independent self-care, and can maintain a healthy relationship, understanding and respecting boundaries. 
  • Child does not have any presenting behaviours that could put them or a volunteer at risk of harm.

Step 1: Submit inquiry form (see below)

Once inquiry form is submitted, you will gain access to the application form. 

Step 2: Complete and submit application form. 

Applications are processed on a monthly basis. Thank you in advance for your patience. 

Community Program Lead will contact you by email to confirm that your application has been processed. 

Booking link for Step 3 will be provided by Community Program Lead in this confirmation email. 

Step 3: Register for and attend Parent/Guardian Orientation session (virtual). 

Orientation sessions are held approximately three times per month. Orientation must be completed prior to receiving the booking link for Step 4. 

Step 4: Book and complete Parent/Guardian Interview with Community Program Lead. 

Can be completed over Zoom, phone, or in-person at agency office. 

Step 5: Book and complete Child Interview (in-person) with Community Program Lead. 

Must be completed in-person at agency office.

    After you have hit the “submit button” on this form, you will receive an email from us that includes a link to the application package. Please check your junk mail or spam folder if you can’t find an email from Big Brothers Big Sisters. You have 60 days to either submit the application form and sign up for a Parent Orientation Session.  If we do not hear from you within that time, we will assume that you are not interested in our mentoring programs and your file will be closed. You may re-apply at any point in the future.
